Mark 1:1-8 — When we read the 'beginning of the gospel…’ laid out in Mark 1:1, we should sit up and take notice as there is an invitation to come back to ‘first things first'. There is call for us to be a people who remember the priority and centrality of Jesus, to be a people who embrace the call to repentance and deal with sin in our lives, and, like John the Baptist, be a people whose lives speak and point people to Jesus.
