Forgiveness From The Heart

Matthew 18:21-35; John 19:28-30; Luke 7:36-38 — Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant should be a sharp reminder to us of the importance of forgiveness. Truly forgiving others from our heart is possible (and necessary!) because God has forgiven us of an infinitely greater debt. If we can’t forgive others, then we have not fully appreciated the immensity of God’s mercy to us at the Cross of Calvary.

1 Samuel 16:6-13, 17:34-36,40-47; Numbers 13-14; Joshua 1:9— With utter confidence in the faithfulness of His mighty God, David - a mere shepherd boy - defeated an entire army. Whether on a literal battlefield or not, we all face ‘Goliaiths’ of some kind in our lives. But we are not called to respond in fear. Rather, as we learn to fight our giants with God’s perspective and strategy, we too can step forward in courage and see Him win the victory.
