Isaiah 6:1-8; Acts 2:43, 5:11, 9:31; Luke 11:2; Psalm 25:12-14; 1 Peter 1:14-19 — Right throughout scripture we see a call to live with awe and ‘fear’ before the holiness and majesty of God. In Isaiah’s commissioning, this response of reverence was the essential starting point for a life of repentant obedience. Far beyond worldly success or the blessings that we receive from Him, our lives ought to be marked by the priority and pursuit of God Himself.

Romans 8:31-39; Revelation 12:10-11 — The finished work of Jesus has forever secured our justification and redemption, but it is infinitely more than just a ticket to eternal life. As Paul exhorts his Roman readers, we have not been born again to live in an attitude of defeat, but to live through the trials of the present life as more than conquerors.
